The San Antonio & Northern Railroad, the HO layout of SAMRA. This is a flowing layout
designed for running trains, both fun runs with long trains and long runs, and operating
sessions with plenty of switching options.
The layout occupies about 3000 sq ft of the museum. It may seem mostly completed, though
visitors will find various projects with work continuing. A new port scene is being added to
one end of the layout and progress is well underway.
A visit to the museum is the best way to see this railroad.

hosts
both
casual
running
and
formal
operating
of
trains.
Most
Sundays
are
‘Fun
Run’
days,
a
great
time
to
visit
and
see
various
trains
traveling
the
lengthy
mainline
tracks
of
this
large
HO
model
railroad.
Select
Saturdays
are
‘Operating
Sessions’,
where
crews
run
trains
more
realistically,
switching
cars
at
designated locations, using Manifest and under dispatcher authority.
